About Us

Ben graduated from the Ivey School of Business in 1996. He worked as a precious metals trader in London until 1998 when he decided to do a ski season in France before going back to University for an MBA. The concept for VIP Mountain Holidays was born on a chairlift in Courchevel France while Ben was working as a ski guide with his lifetime ski buddy Matt. Ben & Matt moved to Whistler in the spring of 1999 to do ‘1 more ski season in Whistler before going back to school to do an MBA’ with nothing but a shared laptop and a pair of skis to start VIP. This was at the same time as this new thing called the ‘Internet’ was just beginning. The late nights on the laptop paid off and Team VIP cracked the algorithm for the AOL search engine and in the 1st year of business VIP’s clients were all AOL users. 25 years later VIP is still going strong supported by 25 years worth of repeat and happy guests many of whom have become great friends. Ben is married to his energetic wife Angela and has 2 kids Parker & Piper. Ben has sat on many Boards in Whistler over the years including the Executive of the Whistler Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Whistler’s Service Committee and many local sports club Boards. Ben is very thankful for all of VIP’s guests and dedicated and passionate staff over the years and is looking forward to helping you enjoy your time in Whistler to its fullest. Trevor's journey began in a small town on Vancouver Island, Canada, where his entrepreneurial spirit was nurtured by his family's resort hotels and restaurants. His passion for the outdoors and teaching skiing led him to Whistler in 1994, where he quickly became a fixture in the community. Over the past three decades, Trevor has left an indelible mark on Whistler. He managed one of the town's busiest stores and launched two successful businesses: a lively coffee shop/bar and a popular grocery delivery service, both of which became integral parts of the community. His entrepreneurial ventures are just one facet of his dynamic career. An adventurer at heart, Trevor has competed in world cup windsurfing and traveled the globe skiing, snowboarding, surfing, kiteboarding, mountain biking, and tackling ironman triathlons. In Whistler, his influence extends to founding the Whistler Cycling Club, leading a cycling race team, president of the Whistler Triathlon Club, and orchestrating premier mountain biking and triathlon events. Since 2022, Trevor has brought his extensive experience and enthusiasm to VIP as the director of operations, where he shares his love for the outdoors with guests from around the globe. His mission is to provide them with extraordinary experiences that showcase the best of Whistler's natural beauty and thrilling activities. Trevor looks forward to welcoming you to Whistler, where his deep knowledge of the area and passion for adventure will ensure you have an unforgettable visit. Katerina/Kat started her journey in Canada by moving to Whistler from Czch Republic in 2010. Despite language barrier and lack of money, she brought with her the famous Czech work etic and enthusiasm. Kat has run several businesses, including chalet host care and sandwich business, where she gained valuable experience. She has been in the chalet host/property management business for the last 10 years working part time for VIP in that period. She has been working full time for VIP since 2022 and is the Director of Guest Experience. Her biggest passions are: motorcycling, mountain biking and snowboarding. In summer months, you can find her chasing speed on tracks or on the mountains but she’s always excited for the season to change and bring another undeniable great winter in Whistler!
