Olympic Hangover

It seems that we are all suffering from an Olympic sized hangover. The games were fantastic full of highs and lows but now that it is over I wanted to touch base on some of the highs. First off Canada's Gold Medal Game, wow that was amazing. We all managed to take in many different events including hockey, alpine skiing, nordic skiing, luge, bobsled, skeleton, not to mention the countless medal ceremonies and concerts in Whistler. A special mention has to go out to Holly for her photo taken with John Montgomery and his gold medal. To all that came to watch the games thanks for coming and making it so memorable.

Olympics half way over

Hard to believe that the Olympics are almost half way over. We are very proud of our Canadians that's for sure. The atmosphere in Whistler and even more so in Vancouver is off the charts in terms of positive human energy. Go! Canada Go! Go! World Go!

17 days until the show

With 17 days to go until the opening ceremonies of the Olympics everyone in Whistler is starting to get excited and nervous at the same time. As for us here at VIP we are getting ready to be hit with an onslaught of spectators, athletes, athletes family and media. We have had quite a few guests arrive already and are working around the clock to get ready for the many other people who are arriving next week. As for what is new with us, we have hired a very nice english lad; Adrian. So if you see him around town please be nice to him.

Olympic Arrivals

Well after 4 years of working and waiting for the main event, it appears to now be upon us. We have our first Olympic guest (Broadcaster) arriving on the 14th of Jan… Bring on the games.

Perfect Forecast

Well it looks like the weather gods are smiling on Whistler this year. This morning Ben sent a message to all of us here at VIP informing us of the perfect weather we are just about to have. 4 or 5 days of sun, followed by 2 days of snow, then sun again… With the base being over 2M and the perfect 14 day forecast, it doesn't get better than that.

Snow returning?

We have had an extended period of magnificent clear and cold weather after our record snow producing November, or sNovember as the locals have coined it.

It looks like some new snow is on the way as some disturbances are blowing in off the Pacific. I think that we are ready! Stay posted for snow reports to fall on top of our early season stellar base.

Heliskiing in the Rutherford

Sunny and Clear

A northern outflow has brought some colder than normal temperatures to Whistler this week. This has resulted in clear skies as well as the temperatures needed to blow enough snow on the ski outs and get them officially open. Both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains now have their ski outs open. The skiing has been fast and fun lately that's for sure. Any takers on a race down Tokum….
