Callaghan backcountry lodge

We just had our VIP season closing retreat up at the Callaghan Lodge. What a great team building trip. We had 2 days of ski touring, some cross country skiing, some partying, and some relaxing. All in all a great event with sunshine both days. If you want to see some photos please just let us know.

Ski touring

Dylan and Matt just came back from four days of ski touring up at Whitecap Lodge, absolutely fantastic, steep lines with knee deep powder what more could they ask for? If you would like to see some photos of the trip just ask and we will send some out. There is still lots of snow to be had for the ski fan out there and the festival is going strong with a performance by the John Butler Trio tomorrow. What a fun time of the year!

Easter snow

With two rather large snowfalls over the Easter weekend it looks like Whistler has been plunged back into the throws of winter. The skiing over Easter weekend is having some locals calling it the best weekend of this season for skiing/riding. The telus ski and snowboard festival is up next. If you haven't heard of the festival before it is a collection of great skiers/riders and performers who all come together to wind down the winter season and bring in the spring with a festival type atmosphere.

Spring has sprung

It certainly feels like spring in the air, the snow is still really good at the top of the hill, but the village snow is starting to disappear. However from the amount of snow we have had down to the village it looks like it might take a couple of months to fully disappear. If you are thinking of coming up for Easter weekend there are still some really nice units available.

Callaghan

I just had a great weekend back at the Callaghan Lodge. We had 30 cm of fresh snow the skate skiing trails were in great shape and the ski touring was fantastic. Nothing like a good weekend of fresh air, fresh snow, and some R & R to make you feel like you are truly living.

World Cup Downhill

After several years of absence the Downhill is finally back to Whistler. All the action is from the 21st to the 24th of February. The Men's Super G is on Thursday, the Women's Downhill is on Friday, the Men's Giant Slalom is on Saturday with the Women's Super Combined finishing off the weekend on Sunday. Inquire within if you want to come up and check out the action and find out where all the good spots to watch are.

Telemark and Pinnacle Ridge

There are still two really nice units available for Presidents week; a Telemark unit and a Pinnacle Ridge unit if anyone is looking for a nice larger unit for that week. The Pinnacle Ridge unit is a 5 bedroom unit and the Telemark unit is a 3 bdrm unit. Please inquire within if you are interested in either of these options.

Olympic Triathlon (of sorts)

In an effort to get into the Olympic spirit Ben performed an Olympic triathlon (of sorts) yesterday. It started with a walk through the new bobsled track, then up to the Whistler Olympic park in the Callaghan for some nordic skiing (while checking out the biathlon shooting range and ski jumps), then he finished off with a run down the Dave Murray downhill (site of the alpine events for 2010). I guess you could say the Olympics aren't just coming to Whistler but rather they are already here! Let us know if you want to rent some accommodation for the Olympics.

Presidents Week

Charge of the Goddess

Women's Week is now called "Charge of the Goddess". There are camps and programs designed to get the ladies out on the slopes and having fun. After a day on the hill they will be heading out into the Village for a true girls' night of dining, dancing and laughing until it hurts. For the boys out there this might be your chance to come to a ski resort and have an even mix of boys/girls.
