Whistler did not manage to escape the forest fires that have been consuming our province this summer. With our record heat levels and dry conditions we experienced a fire of our own, in the Spanky's / Crystal ridge area on Blackcomb last week.  Thankfully. the fire was contained very quickly and today we are experiencing some much needed rain so things won't be getting out of control.  I for one am looking forward to the ski season to head up to the effected areas on Blackcomb to see if it opened up any new tree skiing…..
