Summer brings whitewater fun to Whistler where the surrounding peaks and rugged coastal valleys are natural ingredients for great river running. The three main rafting areas are the Elaho-Squamish, the Birkenhead and the Green Rivers. These three rivers vary in length and in the size of their rapids. There are tours from 2.5 hours to a full day which depart the Whistler throughout the day. Experience the thrill of seeing glaciers from your boat as you paddle your way down fun, splashy rapids. All the tours are suitable for first timers and are outlined below:
Green river: Tour 2.5 hours (1 hour on river) $69 per person ($10 off for children under 16) Times: 9, 12, 3:30. This tour is suitable for beginners that are active.
Birkenhead river: Tour 4 hours (1 hour on river) $89 per person ($10 off for kiddo's) Times: May-June 11am; July- Aug 10, 2:45pm. This tour is for more adventurous people, through old growth forest.
Elaho-Squamish river: Tour 8 hours (3-4 hours on rivers includes stop for lunch) $154 pe:r person ($10 off) Times: 8:30am. This tour includes a catered lunch on shore of river. The Elaho river has lots of rapid sections followed by a float down the Squamish river to finish things off.
Cheakamus river: Tour 4 hours (1 hour on river) $89 per person ($44-$69 for youths) Times: 9:30, 2:30pm. This tour is good for families, mainly floating down the river with a couple of fun rapid sections
