Snowmobiling is the most popular non-skiing activity at Whistler. The machines are safe, clean and easy to ride. There are different levels of tours (that suit every ability) from beginners who have never ridden to experts who are looking for advanced terrain. Snowmobiling is a great way to get into the backcountry surrounding the resort and you can't beat the views on the tours, that's for sure! There are some tours that depart in the evenings, so even if you want to ski every day of your holiday, you can still go on a snowmobiling tour.
Here are the tours we recommend:
Beginner Scenic Cruise {2Hr} $89 sharing per person, $119 single rider. Departs daily at 9:00, 11:00, 1:30. This tour is designed for people who have never ridden a snowmobile and who want to try it, but start out slow. It departs right from the resort and follows the Fitzsimmons Creek watershed between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Kids aged 3-6 ride in a caboose and kids 7 & up can double up with an adult driver.
Intermediate Wilderness Run {3Hr} $149 sharing per person, $189 single rider. Departs daily at 8:30, 12:00, 3:00. This tour is meant for people who have ridden a few times before, but is also suitable for anyone that is new to snowmobiling and is reasonably athletic. The paths are more challenging and the pace is a bit faster. It travels deep into the backcountry of the Callaghan valley and offers views of the spectacular Alexander Waterfall and an abandoned gold mine. This tour stops in an open back bowl half way along where riders are free to go for it as much as they want! Exhilarating snowmobile adventures take visitors off the beaten track.
Advanced X tour {half day} $239 per person. No sharing allowed. An exhilarating experience! You will experience extensive, challenging terrain on this adventure. Maneuver through old growth forest to powder playgrounds and up steep slopes on a wild ride deep into the heart of the Callaghan Valley. Lunch is included with this tour.
Tours are available for all levels and include snowsuits, helmets, and warm winter boots. All tours are accompanied by experienced guides with extensive mountain knowledge making each tour a safe and enjoyable experience.
