Whistler Village features a number of galleries showcasing the work of local and Canadian artists. They are all very close to each other and an art gallery walk is a fine way to spend an afternoon. The native art that is showcased is very unique and is difficult to find with such great selection anywhere else in the world.
The Whistler museum has recently undergone a major renovation and it is a great way to find out what Whistler was like in the old days. Explore native culture at the new Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre. Take a guided or self guided tour and check out the exhibits and contemporary galleries, watch a film showcasing traditional and modern culture, buy a ceremonial mask, and sample some food with a First Nation's twist in the cafe.
Vancouver is only a short drive away and offers the opportunity to take in more shopping, art galleries, museums and aquariums or even an NHL hockey game at GM place.
Lastly there are many guided and self-guided eco tours & nature walks in the Whistler valley so prepared to take in some culture while you are visiting!
